Abstract

Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution that can be done out of court. In Indonesia, there is a special institution tasked with resolving consumer disputes, namely through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Consumer Dispute Settlement Agency (hereinafter referred to as 'BPSK DKI Jakarta'). Mediation at the DKI Jakarta BPSK is a reliable method in the midst of difficult circumstances such as during the Covid-19 pandemic. From the results of changes in the application of mediation at BPSK DKI Jakarta then analyzed based on legal protection according to Satjipto Raharjo. The purpose of this paper is to find out the differences in the application of mediation before and during the Covid-19 Pandemic at BPSK DKI Jakarta. This research method uses a normative juridical approach with a law approach and primary legal materials in the form of the Consumer Protection Act and related regulations. The results of the study show that a change in the application of mediation during the Covid-19 pandemic carried out by BPSK DKI Jakarta has provided legal protection to consumers and business actors.
